Trailer Trash #4 (DEC 2012)

It is almost the end of the year...
and so it is time to hype you lil Booniacs, and Buckleheads into a frenzy for the coming year. And boy freaking howdy is 2013 shaping up to be one heck of a film entertainment year... assuming of course the world doesn't end in 3 days...
Unless of course you read up on that whole daylight savings thing in which case the world actually ended in may... or june... whatevs... moral of the story - I ain't afraid of no Mayan.

First I would like to say hands down my most anticipated film next year is MAN OF STEEL, a close second to STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS, and third to the blood soaked surprisingly awesome looking - EVIL DEAD... but here at Boonsweet & Bucklesworth we try to find films maybe a little off the beaten path, and well, over the next few months you will probably have the path to those three films beaten into your subconscious... soooooo... here's a couple of my early picks for fun, and celluloid love for next year...

PACIFIC RIM (July 11, 2013)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-ZcqwvQbas

GDT (Guillermo Del Toro), director of Hellboy, and Pan's Labyrinth, directing a movie about giant robots battling giant aliens. Now I know some of you have been following this film. Heck there is a whole lotta cool to warrant your attention. Especially when you hear that the studio has been so blown away by the film that they have pretty much handed the guy a blank check for his next film. Sweet. So ya, giant aliens come through a dimensional rift and we built giant suits (Can I say Mech?) to battle them. Godzilla vs Transformers... Yup. I approve.

THE ABC'S OF DEATH

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFgrFENQ4oQ

First... that folks is a hard R rated trailer. So be warned. A film that consists of 26 shorts, by 26 directors... examining all kinds of messy ways to bite the dust. Everything from clay-mation to death by crazy bride... this movie to me, as a horror fan, has so very many reasons to be stoked beyond reason. Here's hoping it lives up to the last anthology me and Buckles checked out... the awesome VHS.

TRAILER TRASH #3

Booniacs....
Buckleheads...
Here it is, another segment in our infinitely popular (or, you know, soon to B) future awesomeness preparedness. Yes, I know I over worded that. It's kinda, like my thing. So on the eve of my cohort's review of VHS (One of Bucklesworth's picks in his first TRAILER TRASH) i thought, they want more, I want more, what makes my spidey parts tingle... Ah. Dammit it. That cartoon is seriously messing with my one-liners...

LOOPER (endish 2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI3ju17W070

I really hate being force fed advertisements before the prime vid. Just thought I would share. I guess someone realized everyone clicked "skip" lol... moving on. A film about a hitman in the past (Joseph Gorden-Levitt) who is sent victims form the future who he offs. Only one rule, always pull trigger. All good till his future self shows up, Bruno McWilliss... Ooooooo ya. Two of my fav actors, in a neat little action packed Sci-fi venture. Popcorn. Seatbelt. Gigglyawesome.

TAI CHI 0 (oct 2012)

http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/independent/taichi0/

"A steampunk-kung-fu-showdown" Yup. I'm sold. And ninjas with glowing eyes. And slow motion explosions. And its from the people that did IP MAN. In. Also let the record show I was so very torn between putting this up, or THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS. But, I limited myself to two that is the rule.

Here's hoping the fall shapes up to be the awesome collection of film it looks like!

-Boony, signing of from the park.

TRAILER TRASH #2

Well, your old pal Bucklesworth isn't content to just let 2 trailers be enough for you this month.  After all, why would Boonsweet and I let you miss potentially awesome flicks by not seeing the trailers?  I mean, if we don't show them to you, what guarantees are there that you'll see them on your own?  That said, here we go again...

V/H/S (Fall 2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNA9bV0DtDU

As a huge horror buff, and (as mentioned in a previous review) a "found footage" fan, this movie was naturally my first pic for Trailer Trash.  And I must say, it looks pretty damn creepy.  This is actually an anthology, which is pretty uncommon for the "found footage" sub-genre, and each story is created by a different director.  The positive being that with different stories and different directors, we're bound to like at least one of 'em, hahaha.

THE APPARITION (August 2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7pY71AvnlE

I know, I know.  Another horror flick Bucklesworth?  Yes, indeed.  That's how I roll ladies and gentlemen.  This one I happened to see the trailer for while seeing another movie in the cinema (Wrath of the Titans, if I recall correctly).  The story of a university parapsychology experiment gone wrong, a pair of students become tormented by spirits.  The interesting part is that the flick is apparently inspired by allegedly true events, so it certainly whetted my curiosity.  Check out the trailer and judge for yourself.

TRAILER TRASH #1 (JULY 2012)

Okay Booniacs, and Buckleheads, it is time for a brand new segment callllllled... TRAILER TRASH. Here me, and my homeboi KKB, are gunna throw down and showcase some of the trailers that have us more than a lil' bit excited. Some you may have seen... others you may have missed and hopefully will get you pumped up! As we all know trailers these days can be lies. Horrible, shameless lies! So down the road when these flicks come out, we will of course throw down a review and see if it lived up.

Alright... here we go. Buckle in... turn down the lights... click that ipod to soft jams track 8 and lets see whats out there...

END OF WATCH (late 2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX2CO4YyREU

I do like me a good cop movie. I am a man. And I was once a boy, and so I have many times in my life ran around a hard firing a water gun determined to capture the bad guys. This looks like a lovely take on the genre, and some really cool peeps to boot. Jakey G has been one of my favs since DONNIE DARKO and Michael Pena has been getting around and doing all kinds of things. Can't say as I approve of all his choices... but this looks like a good one. The part that gets me is the set up call. Crazyness.

SINISTER (late 2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgYxydrVlDk

Ethan Hawke has been damn good at what he does. Racking up a long list of winners (GATTACA being a fav). So anything with him in it catches my attention. This does have the feel of INSIDIOUS from last year. A strange little film that made a bunch of dough. Not surprisingly from the same folks. But it is rated R and that is worth something. There are a couple of real creepy parts in this trailer. I think I'm in.
